Before using Numberer, ensure your environment meets the following prerequisites:

 Autodesk Revit: From version 2020 to newest.

Usage​

Basic Sequential Numbering​

  1. Navigate to NonicaTab → Numberer.
  2. Select Element Type: Choose the category you want to number:
    • Any Element: Allows selection of mixed element types
    • Specific Categories: Rooms, Areas, Doors, Grids, Levels, etc.
    • Tool restricts selection to chosen category for consistency
  3. Choose Parameter: Select which parameter to populate:
    • Default Options: Name, Number, Comments
    • Custom Parameters: Any project-specific parameters you've created, just typing
  4. Configure Numbering Format: Set up your numbering system using the options below.

Numbering Configuration​

  1. Prefix Setup:
    • Enter text to appear before the number (e.g., "L2_", "Fur_", "RM-")
    • Useful for level identification, category coding, or project standards
  2. Suffix Setup:
    • Enter text to appear after the number (e.g., "_TYPE", "-A", ".01")
    • Optional field for additional classNameification
  3. Starting Number:
    • Set the first number in your sequence (e.g., "01", "001", "1")
    • Adjust zero padding as needed for your numbering standard
  4. Begin Selection: Start clicking elements in the order you want them numbered.

Interactive Numbering Process​

  1. Sequential Selection: Click elements one by one in your desired numbering order.
  2. Auto-Increment: Each selection automatically assigns the next number in sequence.
  3. Flexible Ordering: Number elements in any spatial or logical order you prefer.
  4. Session Persistence: If tool is closed accidentally, reopen to continue with saved settings.

Advanced Workflow Examples​

Room Numbering by Level:

  1. Select "Rooms" element type
  2. Choose "Number" parameter
  3. Set prefix "L2_" for second level
  4. Start with "01" and select rooms in logical sequence

Furniture Asset Tagging:

  1. Select "Any Element" to include all furniture types
  2. Choose "Mark" parameter for asset identification
  3. Set prefix "Fur_" for furniture category
  4. Number furniture items for inventory tracking
